My cosmic job description (according to my astrology chart) is the role of Communicator & Wise Clown…the one who inspires hope, faith and pie-eyed joy.
Yes, I am a communicator and have been in love with words since I was a kid.
I followed my passion for singer/songwriting & live performance for most of my adult life, performing as Karin Blaine. You can listen to my music @ Apple Music or Spotify. Now, I am a Substack writer.
Yes, I am a Wise Clown who believes in a loving Cosmos. I, also, believe that loving, compassionate connection with ourselves, others and our planet is everything.
It is my lived experience that informs my writing and the way I live my day-to-day.
I am a recovering alcoholic of many years.
I live with a major depressive disorder.
I have a daily meditative practice of dunking and floating in cold sea water.
I share my personal experience, my losses and my wins, in hopes that it will inspire you.
I hold a MA in Applied Behavioral Sciences from the Leadership Institute of Seattle and have been a student of Mind Body Stress Reduction (Jon Kabat-Zinn) and Mindful Self-Compassion (Kristin Neff/Chris Germer).
I am a life-long resident of the Pacific Northwest except for several years spent in Boston during the’90’s. I live in Seattle near Puget Sound.
